"Zezinho tinha um pavor imenso de gente. Chegava quase a ter uma síncope ao avistar um “grandão”. Zezinho ainda era uma criança; uma criança barata pré-adolescente. Seu medo teve origem nos conselhos de sua mãe, uma velha e experiente barata, que lhe contava histórias de como havia testemunhado várias companheiras baratas serem assassinadas por grandões; inclusive seu marido, o pai de Zezinho, e seus irmãos, que pereceram esmagados pelos grandões. Ela instruía Zezinho a evitar a todo custo, ser visto por um grandão, e fugir imediatamente ao avistar um. Contava histórias apavorantes, e reais, acerca da crueldade dos grandões para com eles, baratas. Fazia isso, para proteger seu querido filho. Porém Zezinho desenvolvera uma fobia tão grande, que entrava em desespero total, ao avistar um grandão, chegava a ficar desnorteado, sem rumo, desfalecia até..., levando sua mãe também ao desespero, e a ter, até, que carrega-lo durante a fuga...

Prevendo que talvez, esse terror, excessivo, aos grandões, que ela havia incutido em seu filho, ao invés de protegê-lo, poderia acabar tendo o efeito inverso, a mãe de Zezinho resolve contar um "segredinho" a respeito dos grandões a ele.".

A small cockroach is dazzled by its fame and success. Three short stories; "Once upon a time there was a little cockroach ...", "Warrior", "The Combat", and a poem, "Satisfaction".

Read the opening excerpt of the book: 

"Zezinho was terrified of people. He almost had a syncope when he saw a “big one”. Zezinho was still a child; a pre-teen cockroach child. His fear stemmed from the advice of his mother, an experienced old cockroach, who told him stories of how he had witnessed several cockroaches being murdered by big ones; including her husband, Zezinho's father, and her brothers, who perished crushed by the big oness. She instructed Zezinho to avoid at all costs, to be seen by a big one, and to flee immediately when he saw one. He told terrifying, real stories about the cruelty of the big ones towards them, cockroaches. He did this to protect his beloved son. However, Zezinho had developed such a phobia, that he went into total despair, when he saw a big guy, he got bewildered, aimlessly, fainted until ..., leading his mother also to despair, and even having to carry him. during the flight. 

Predicting that perhaps this excessive terror of the big ones, that she had instilled in her son, instead of protecting him, could end up having the opposite effect, Zezinho's mother decides to tell him a "little secret" about the big ones."
